If you purchased a second, regularly priced barrel and kit bundle (or other purchase eligible for free delivery), you will pick up your order AFTER class at 4pm. Your confirmation email will contain pick up information and your reservation number (1P-20P).

CLASS AND RESERVATIONS FOR FREE DELIVERY FOR THIS EVENT ARE NOW FULL.

The workshop includes a presentation on rain barrels and instructions on how to build your own rain barrel, a 55-gallon rain barrel, and connector kit. We will also provide you with an installation guide to help you connect your new rain barrel to a downspout.

You will need to be able to take home your rain barrel at the end of the workshop. Sorry, but we will not be able to store your rain barrel for pick up at a later date. We will only have enough barrels for those that register and will not be able to accommodate any walk-ins.

Due to the popularity of these workshops and the long waiting list, please only register one person for one barrel per household (Colorado residents only).

In this workshop, you'll join the City of Englewood and Groundwork Denver water program director, Jessica Swindon, to learn about rainwater harvesting principles and how to apply them to your home. You'll leave with all of the information you need to install a rain barrel, the legality of harvesting rainwater, and how to start conserving water and saving money. 

You will need to be able to take home your rain barrel at the end of the workshop. Due to the popularity of these workshops, please only register one person for one barrel per household.

  • Workshop Lead Bio: Jessica Swindon is the water program director at Groundwork Denver, an environmental-justice non-profit in Denver and an Englewood City resident. She works with youth and the community to install rain barrels and rain gardens for residents, monitors water quality, and advocates for water protection in the Metro Denver area.

DC Rain Barrel Rebate Program

The District Department of Energy & Environment’s RiverSmart Homes offers rebates to property owners of residential buildings, commercial buildings, and community spaces in the District of Columbia who purchase and install rain barrels on their properties.

Rebates are issued as a direct reimbursement at a rate of $2 per gallon of rain barrel capacity. The rebate ONLY covers the cost of the barrel itself, and barrels MUST meet program criteria.
